Content Creator

Responsibilities:

Develop blog posts and articles related to Black women authors, literature, and cultural discussions.

Collaborate with the team to create content around book club events, reviews, and member spotlights.
Conduct author interviews or write opinion pieces on current literary trends.
Assist with developing a monthly newsletter.

Requirements:

Strong writing skills and experience in content creation (writing, editing).
An avid reader with a passion for books, especially literature written by Black authors.
Reads regularly and stays updated with current literary trends.

Video Content Creator

Responsibilities:

Create video content for social media, including book reviews, author spotlights, and event highlights.

Record and edit interviews with authors or book club members.
Produce promotional videos for upcoming book club meetings and events.
Create engaging and informative videos on trending topics related to literature and Black culture.

Requirements:

Proven experience in video editing software.
Strong storytelling skills and creativity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, or other social media platforms for video content.
Passion for uplifting Black women’s voices in literature and beyond.
Comfortable in front of the camera.

Graphic Designer

Responsibilities:

Design promotional materials such as flyers, banners, and social media posts.
Create visual content for social media.
Develop a cohesive brand identity and ensure consistency across all visual materials.
Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator and Video Content Creator on campaigns.

Requirements:

Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
Experience in creating social media graphics and visual storytelling.
Understanding of visual branding and ability to create cohesive, eye-catching designs.
Interest in literature, particularly work by Black women authors.
Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Social Media Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain our social media accounts (Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter etc.).
Develop and manage a content calendar for social media platforms.
Collaborate with the Content Creator, Video Creator, and Graphic Designer to ensure content is aligned with the club’s brand and mission.
Analyse social media metrics to track growth and engagement, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Requirements:

Experience managing social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Understanding of social media trends and tools for scheduling and analysis (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Buffer).
Ability to create a sense of community and connection through social media.
Passion for books and promoting Black women authors and literature.

Community Moderator

Responsibilities:

Monitor and moderate conversations in the Discord server to ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
Facilitate discussions around current book selections, book club events, and relevant topics related to Black women’s literature and culture.
Respond to member inquiries, help resolve conflicts, and provide support to members who need assistance navigating the server.
Occasionally organise and host virtual events or discussions within the server, such as Q&A sessions, book chats, or themed discussions.

Requirements:

Experience using Discord and familiarity with community management tools.
Strong communication skills and a high level of empathy and patience.
A commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for Black women.
Passion for literature, particularly works by Black authors, and a desire to encourage meaningful discussions.
